Highland cattle (also known as Hairy Coo or Heilan Coo) are an ancient Scottish breed of beef cattle with long outward spreading horns and long wavy pelts coloured black, brindled, red, yellow, or dun. Picture taken in Switzerland.

It could be genetics or an injury at an early age to his horn buds that caused the malformed horn. Unfortunately if the steer's horn isn't trimmed soon it will grow into his face : ( yuck. If the owner notices this guy will probably end up as steak. Same thing happens to goats and sheep sometimes too.
