Hyacinth Macaw Video

Native to the forests of central South America, the Hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus), or Hyacinthine Macaw, is the largest macaw and the largest flying parrot species in the world. The macaws' strong beaks are designed to manipulate, cut, shave, and crack a wide variety of nuts and fruits. Here, a hyacinth, the biggest of all parrots, readily consumes palm nuts. For photos of other parrots see this page here.
